All companies exporting to Kuwait are required to comply with the Kuwait Conformity Assurance Scheme (KUCAS). This system, implemented by the Ministry of Industry of the State of Kuwait, aims to ensure that imported products comply with national regulations and safety standards.
Prior to export, you must obtain a Technical Inspection Report (TIR) and Technical Evaluation Report (TER) for your products.
Under KUCAS, both certification and product-based inspection and testing processes must be completed before shipment, and products must be sent to Kuwait with a certificate of conformity. Otherwise, products may be rejected at customs or may experience delays.
KUCAS Certification Process – TIR & TER Requirements
The KUCAS program relies on two primary documents that certify the conformity of products before export:
Technical Inspection Report (TIR)
Physical inspection, label verification, and on-site inspection of product markings are conducted.
The TIR is a technical report that documents the physical condition of the product and its compliance with standards before shipment.
Technical Evaluation Report (TER)
The product's technical files, user manual, accredited test reports, and any applicable CE/IEC certificates are evaluated.
The TER is an evaluation report demonstrating the product's technical compliance with the legislation.
These documents must be prepared specifically for each product group to be shipped to Kuwait and can only be issued by authorized inspection agencies.
